Tiffiany Newsome

Tiffiany Newsome has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Tiffiany started their career as an Assistant Language Teacher at J.E.T. Program from August 2006 to August 2011, where they focused on team building practices, developing intercultural communication lectures, and researching best practices for teaching English as a second language.

Afterwards, Tiffiany worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at American University from August 2017 to May 2019. During this time, they conducted independent research on the connections between terrorist groups and organized crime and supported academic articles on Chinese, Japanese, and US relations.

In 2018, Tiffiany joined Prevalent Inc. as a Cyber Risk Analyst. Tiffiany analyzed various assessments and created risk profiles and third-party risk programs using the Prevalent platform for fifteen Fortune 500 and international companies. Tiffiany also collected and analyzed evidence on policy and technical controls to assess client's risk profiles.

From December 2018 to October 2019, Tiffiany held the position of Open-Source Threat Intelligence Analyst at Prevalent Inc. Their responsibilities included analyzing and documenting cyber, operational, financial, legal, and brand risk events for 700 companies using open-source research techniques. Tiffiany also published a thought leadership piece on continuous business risk monitoring and mapped risk events to various frameworks.

Tiffiany Newsome completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from George Mason University in the years 2003 to 2006. Tiffiany later pursued higher education at the American University School of International Service, where they attained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International and Intercultural Communication between 2017 and 2019.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Tiffiany Newsome also obtained certifications to enhance their skillset. In July 2020, they earned the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-501) Cert Prep: 1 Threats, Attacks, and Vulnerabilities certification from LinkedIn. Furthermore, in February 2018, they acquired the Social Network Analysis Using R certification from Lynda.com.
