Anna Popinchalk has extensive work experience in research and evaluation, particularly in the field of public health. Anna began their career as a Clinic Assistant and Health Educator at Family Tree Clinic in 2009, where they eventually became the Volunteer Coordinator and Lead Clinic Assistant. In 2013, Anna worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Anna then joined the Guttmacher Institute in 2014, starting as a Senior Research Assistant and later advancing to the role of Research Associate. From 2018 to 2021, they served as the Intake Co-Manager at the New York Abortion Access Fund. Most recently, Anna held the position of Senior Research Associate at the Guttmacher Institute before joining the Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) in 2023 as the Director of Research and Evaluation.

Anna Popinchalk completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geography, Community and Global Health at Macalester College from 2005 to 2009. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree specializing in Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, which they completed between 2012 and 2014. In 2011, Anna also underwent training to become a certified doula through DONA Certified Doula Training. The duration of their doula training is not specified.
