Simon James

Simon James is an accomplished professional in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as the Exploration and Development Manager at Prime Energy since November 2023. With extensive experience leading development projects, Simon previously held the position of Development Manager at Brunei Shell Petroleum from October 2019 to September 2023, overseeing a team of over 300 technical professionals and managing significant CAPEX. Prior roles include GM Development Front End Studies at The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria and leadership positions at Shell Canada, Shell Projects & Technology, and other Shell subsidiaries, where Simon focused on areas such as completions, technology deployment, and CO2 storage. Educational qualifications include a B.Sc. in Mining Geology from Imperial College London and a PhD in Volcanism in Sedimentary Basins from Newcastle University, complemented by a business administration program at London Business School.
