Mike Phillips

Mike Phillips has a wealth of experience in the banking industry. Mike most recently worked at PrimeSouth Bank as the SVP and Director of Operations. Prior to that, they were the EVP and Bank Operations Consultant at BankSmart/CUSmart. From 2019 to 2022, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of Planters First Bank. Mike also held executive positions at Calumet Bank and State Bank and Trust Company. In addition, Mike had a long and varied career at Flag Bank, Flag Financial Corporation, AmeriFirst Bank, TalentQuest, Troy Bank and Trust, and Henderson Bancshares. During this time, they held multiple roles such as EVP Chief Bank Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. Mike'sresponsibilities included IT management, network infrastructure, information security, financial management, budgeting, and project management.

Mike Phillips has a diverse education history. Mike obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Banking and Finance from Fairfield University, where they studied from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they pursued a graduate program in Banking and Finance from Louisiana State University, attending from 1999 to 2001. In 1987 to 1989, Mike attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a graduate program at the School for Bank Administration, focusing on Operations Management and Supervision. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from Troy University, which they obtained from 1981 to 1984.

In addition to their formal education, Mike has also earned a variety of certifications. These include being a Certified Financial Manager through the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants, a Certified Internal Controls Auditor from The Institute for Internal Controls, a Certified Management Accountant also via the IMA | Institute of Management Accountants, a Certified Risk Professional from BAI, and a Certified Treasury Professional through the Association for Financial Professionals.
