Jason Payne

Jason Payne is a Principal Scientist at Primrose Bio, a position held since September 2023 following the formation of the company in collaboration with Primordial Genetics. Prior to this role, Jason Payne served as a Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist at Ligand Pharmaceuticals from October 2020 to September 2023, and as a Senior Scientist at Pfenex Inc from December 2009 to October 2020. Earlier career experience includes a Research Scientist role at Dow from 1999 to 2009 and a Researcher position at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 1995-1996. Additionally, Jason Payne was the Alumni Director for the San Diego District of Washington State University from 2003 to 2007 and participated on the executive board of the WSU Alumni Association during two terms. Jason Payne holds a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Washington State University, completed in 1999.
