Ryan Talbot

Ryan Talbot has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and management roles. Ryan is currently employed at PDF Solutions as a Software Engineer since July 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Primus Power as a Software Engineering Manager from November 2014 onwards.

At Primus Power, Ryan managed and led a team of five software developers. Ryan was responsible for the design and development of software for a large-scale distributed flow battery energy farm. Ryan also architected the software running the energy farm system, which included control systems for energy farm, battery management, battery conditioning, and low-level control.

Before Primus Power, they worked at Life Technologies as a Staff Software Engineer for 12 years. Ryan actively managed teams and mentored junior engineers. Ryan played a key role in transitioning a project from a startup environment to a commercial application. Ryan also contributed to the technology integration of a $40 million purchase and served as the main interface for a Fortune 500 customer on firmware and software related matters.

Earlier in their career, Ryan worked at JDS Uniphase as a Software Test Engineer. Ryan was involved in the integration, testing, and debugging of firmware, FPGA, and hardware for an Optical Gain Equalization Device. Ryan also developed test methodologies and test plans for volume manufacturing and designed test fixtures and software in LabVIEW for customer systems.

Overall, Ryan Talbot has a strong background in software engineering, management, and testing, with experience in development, architecture design, project management, and team leadership.

Ryan Talbot earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. Ryan attended the university from 1994 to 1999.
