Jaella Lahat

Jaella Lahat is currently the Coding For Data Team Lead at Podium Education, where instruction in SQL, Python, and Tableau is provided to over 60 students. As an Ignite Fellow for Teach For America, Jaella supports BIPOC youth through high-impact tutoring aimed at overcoming educational barriers. Experience includes mentoring first-generation students at Virginia Commonwealth University in various roles such as You First Mentor and Peer Academic Coach. Jaella is actively involved in community service through organizations such as Operation Smile at VCU and Kapwa Youth Program, advocating for humanitarian initiatives and AAPI education. Leadership roles extend to serving as Co-Founder and Vice President of Operation Smile at VCU and President & Founder of Kapwa at VCU, while maintaining a strong presence in student organizations dedicated to cultural education and outreach. Educational background includes pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University, with prior studies at Northern Virginia Community College and South County High School.
