Ian Gaertner possesses extensive experience in aviation and search and rescue operations, primarily through roles at Priority 1 Air Rescue and the U.S. Coast Guard. As a Primary Instructor and Hoist System Operator at Priority 1 Air Rescue since January 2018, Ian specializes in rotary wing aircrew instruction and advanced aircrew mission simulation. Previously, from April 1996 to September 2017, Ian held multiple key positions within the U.S. Coast Guard, including Chief Aviation Maintenance Technician and Flight Examiners Board Advisor, managing major corrosion programs for aging aircraft and leading the H-60 Enlisted Standardization Team. Ian's career also includes significant contributions to maintenance operations and training, as well as experience in maritime law enforcement and search and rescue operations.
