Mel Stephenson is an experienced Health Improvement Practitioner currently working at ProCare since April 2021, specializing in Primary Care Behavioural Health as a psychologist. Prior experience includes roles as a psychologist at Comprehensive Care PHO and Resilience Psychology, where Mel focused on helping adults achieve their goals through practical skills and strategies. Mel also served as a Health Psychologist for smoking cessation at the Waitemata District Health Board, addressing the needs of hospitalized smokers. Additionally, Mel was involved in project management for Smokefree initiatives and completed an internship in health psychology at The Auckland Regional Pain Service. Mel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology and a Master of Science in Health Psychology from the University of Auckland, along with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature from the University of Otago.
