Herbie Porter

Herbie Porter has extensive work experience in the software development field. Herbie currently holds the position of Senior Staff Engineer at Process Street, where they started in March 2022. Prior to this role, they were a Staff Full Stack Engineer at the same company from May 2021 to March 2022, and a Senior Full Stack Engineer from January 2020 to May 2021.

Before joining Process Street, Herbie worked as a Director at Enlightened Software Services Ltd. from June 2015 onwards. Herbie also worked at Equal Experts as a Scala Developer from October 2018 to January 2020, and as a Scala Tech Lead at HMRC from May 2016 to May 2017.

Herbie's previous experience includes roles at Capgemini as a Scala Tech Lead from January 2018 to October 2018, at Horsebridge Network Systems Ltd. as a Full Stack Developer from July 2015 to May 2016, and at J.P. Morgan as an Associate Software Developer from November 2013 to June 2015, and as an Application Developer from September 2012 to November 2013. Herbie also worked as an Application Developer at J.P. Morgan from June 2010 to August 2011 and as a Mobile Java Developer at FinBlade from May 2010 to July 2010.

Herbie's work experience is not limited to the software development field. Herbie gained valuable management experience as a Bar Manager at Chamberlain Bar - Southampton University SU from June 2008 to May 2010. During this position, they developed skills in management, recruitment, teamwork, licensing, and the entertainment industry.

Herbie Porter completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2008, they attended Guildford College of Further Education and obtained a National Diploma in IT. In addition to their formal education, Herbie has also earned several certifications. In November 2015, they became an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer. Herbie later completed the courses "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" and "Functional Program Design in Scala" from Coursera in January 2017 and September 2017, respectively. Most recently, in October 2018, they completed the course "Reactive Architecture: Introduction to Reactive Systems" from Cognitive Class.
