Siavash Ghaffari

Siavash Ghaffari is a skilled bioinformatics data scientist with extensive experience in single-cell multi-omics analysis and algorithm development. Currently at Genentech, Siavash develops a Perturb-Seq Analysis framework in Python for automated single-cell data analysis. As a senior bioinformatics scientist at ProCogia, Siavash consults for a major pharmaceutical company to create a Single Cell RNA-Seq analysis pipeline while collaborating with DevOps teams. Prior research positions include roles at The Hospital for Sick Children and St. Michael's Hospital, where Siavash focused on bulk-omics data analysis and deep learning algorithms for biological imaging. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from McGill University and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran.
