Claire d'Este has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles.

Claire started their career as a Senior Developer and Team Leader at Broadsystem Ltd in 2000 and held this position until October 2001.

In 2002, they joined CSE, UNSW as a Computer Systems Officer and worked in this role until 2004.

Following this, Claire worked as a Research Assistant and Student at Sony CSL Paris from 2003 to 2004.

From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Research Associate at the University of Tasmania.

In 2010, Claire joined CSIRO, where they initially served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Project Leader, focusing on computational intelligence solutions for mobile and static environmental sensing. Claire then transitioned to the role of Research Scientist, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics research. Their work involved utilizing C++, Python, ROS, Linux, Java, Spark, Hadoop, Git, Maven, Latex, and R.

Simultaneously, Claire also pursued other opportunities, including a role as a Screenwriter/Playwright in various companies since 2002.

In 2015, they started working at Procreate as a Software Engineer and Project Manager. This role continued until June 2019 when they were promoted to the position of Chief Operations Officer. In this role, they led product development and was responsible for software engineering.

Since March 2022, Claire has held the position of Chief Product Officer at Procreate.

Claire d'Este completed their Bachelor of Applied Computing degree in Computer Science from the University of Tasmania from 1996 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Information Technology degree with a focus on Machine Learning from Queensland University of Technology in 1999. Lastly, Claire obtained their PhD in Engineering from the University of New South Wales, where they were enrolled from 2002 to 2007.
