Alastair Hops

Alastair Hops is the Chief Risk Officer at Prodigy Finance. Alastair has over fifteen years of experience in finance and operations management. Prior to joining Prodigy Finance, they were the Finance Director at knomo, a London based startup that sells work and laptop bags, technology accessories, and small leather goods. Alastair was with knomo from the company's launch in 2004 until 2011, when they left to join Prodigy Finance.

At knomo, Hops was responsible for financial management, supply chain management, customer service, supplier and customer negotiations, staff hiring, and process development. Alastair also participated in raising business debt facilities from banks, three rounds of private equity fundraising, and the formation of the knomo USA joint venture. Under their leadership, knomo grew from a startup to a company with 400 outlets in 25 countries.

Hops has a proven track record of successful management in fast-growing companies. Alastair's experience with all aspects of strategy setting, implementation, and day-to-day management make him an asset to any organization.

Alastair Hops has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. Alastair is also a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) from The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Alastair Hops reports to Cameron Stevens, Co-Founder & CEO. Alastair Hops works with Rajesh Rao - CFO, Adam D'Arcy - Chief Product Officer, and Nico Barnard - COO.
