Sr. Director, Financial Products at ProducePay

Carlos Pierre has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Carlos started their career in 2002 as an Associate in Emerging Markets Structuring at Deutsche Bank, where they developed non-traditional financial products and models. Carlos then advanced to the role of Vice President, where they structured trades for Latin American clients. In 2008, Carlos joined Citi as a Vice President in Emerging Markets Credit Trading. After that, they worked at Kiva.org as the Director of Strategic Initiatives. During their time there, they created new products and expanded partnerships beyond micro-finance institutions. Carlos then joined Salesforce as the Director of Strategy & Business Operations for Salesforce.org, managing productivity efforts after the merger. Carlos later became a Senior Director at Salesforce, leading a team to improve internal productivity and customer experience. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Financial Products at ProducePay, starting in 2023.

Carlos Pierre attended Brown University from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a B.A. degree in International Relations, with a focus on Political Economy & Development. In 1996, they also spent a year at Keio University, although it is unclear what degree they pursued there. In 1997-1998, Carlos attended El Colegio de México, where they studied at the Centro de Estudios Internacionales but did not obtain a degree. In 2010-2011, they pursued advanced studies in Mandarin at Beijing Language and Culture University, specializing in Chinese language and advanced studies. Lastly, Carlos obtained a Python certification from MITx Courses in 2015. In addition to these educational experiences, Carlos has acquired several certifications, including the Professional Certificate Program in Strategic Technology Roadmapping and Innovation from MIT Professional Education in January 2023. Carlos also completed certifications in Leadership & Innovation in July 2022 and in the Management of Technology: Roadmapping & Development and Strategy & Portfolio Analysis in February and April 2022, respectively, all from MIT Professional Education.
