Embedded Software Engineer at Proemion

Andrii Shylenko has a wide range of work experience spanning from 2011 to the present. Andrii started their career as a Structural Analysis Engineer at Antonov, where they were responsible for designing and performing strength calculations on cargo aircraft tail unit elements. Andrii then moved on to ifm group of companies, where they worked as an R&D Embedded Software Engineer and Application Engineer, specializing in Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) devices based on IO-Link technology. During their time there, they contributed to the creation and successful market launch of several devices and actors.

Following their role at ifm group of companies, Andrii joined Itron, Inc. as an R&D Firmware Engineer. In this role, they were involved in the architecture, code implementation, test development, and documentation for a new generation of water static metering devices. Andrii also implemented customer applications based on marketing requests, such as detecting leakage and monitoring water usage.

After leaving Itron, Inc., Andrii worked at Railnova as an Embedded IoT Engineer. In this position, they focused on reverse engineering data interfaces on locomotives and embedded Linux development. Andrii gained experience in extracting data from locomotives using various CAN-based protocols, such as J1939, CANOpen, BCM2CAN, as well as MVB and Voith.

Currently, Andrii is working as an Embedded Software Consultant at Proemion, specializing in telematics solutions. Andrii has a passion for designing and developing Internet of Things devices, with expertise in MCU architectures, networking protocols, agile team leadership, and security principles. Andrii is skilled in C/Python programming, modern RTOS principles, and agile development with CI methodology, allowing him to deliver high-quality and robust firmware solutions.

Andrii Shylenko has a Master's Degree in Automatics and Robotics from Politechnika Opolska, which was attained from 2014 to 2015. Prior to this, from 2007 to 2012, they obtained another Master's Degree in Aircrafts and Helicopters from the National Aerospace University - 'Kharkiv Aviation Institute'.
