John Nguyen

John Nguyen is an experienced Engineering Project Manager at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, with a tenure starting in November 2023. Previously, John served as an Engineering Consultant at Garrett and Moore, Inc. from May 2019 to September 2023, and worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering from December 2018 to January 2021, focusing on biocementation techniques to enhance soil stability. John also has extensive experience in sports officiating, having been a Sports Referee for the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials since January 2016. Other positions include roles as a program assistant at the OSHA Training Institute Education Center and a nail technician at Pretty Nails, with a background that includes various positions in both recreational and maintenance settings. John holds a degree from North Carolina State University and has attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Central Carolina Community College.
