Kathryn Nesbitt, PhD, is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both chemistry and sports officiating. Currently serving as an Assistant Referee for U.S. Soccer Federation since January 2002, along with roles at the Professional Referee Organization and FIFA since 2015 and 2016 respectively, Kathryn combines expertise in competitive sports with an academic background. From August 2017 to August 2019, Kathryn held the position of Assistant Professor at Towson University and previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan from August 2015 to July 2017. Kathryn's academic journey began at the University of Pittsburgh, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry was obtained in 2015, after earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from St. John Fisher University in 2010. Additional research experience includes work as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and Undergraduate Researcher, along with roles in analytical laboratories and teaching positions throughout the academic career.
