Thomas Flake

Thomas Flake has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role at Professional Software Engineering, Inc. (PROSOFT) as a Program Manager and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Spathe Systems from 2020 to 2022 as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Change Agent.

From 2016 to 2021, Thomas served as a Program Lead at NASA, where they developed and managed a successful Private/Public partnership model that has been adopted by several government agencies. Thomas worked on vetting potential technologies, selecting companies for pitching to senior leadership, and facilitating over $650 million in funding.

Before NASA, Thomas was the Founder, Chief Marketing Officer, and Treasurer at bcause, LLC from 2012 to 2019. Thomas also worked at Peninsula Technology Incubator as an Incubator Director from 2012 to 2015, where their clients achieved various accomplishments such as winning prizes, receiving investments, and winning awards.

Earlier in their career, Thomas worked at Jacobs Engineering from 2002 to 2012 as Manager of Performance Improvement and Senior Project Manager. Thomas led the creation of a Lean/Six Sigma Management office, managed certification programs, and successfully completed multiple Lean/Six Sigma events. Thomas also managed various projects and a team of systems administrators.

Thomas also has teaching experience, having worked as an Adjunct Professor at DeVry University and ECPI College of Technology in 2011 and 2010, respectively.

In terms of education, Thomas earned an MBA from the College of William and Mary in 2007 with a 3.85 GPA while working full-time and raising four children.

Prior to their MBA, Thomas founded TeliOn, a wireless Internet services provider, where they developed the business plan, designed the wireless network, and acquired customers.
