Varsha Raghavan, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and institutions. Varsha is currently working at ProHealth as a Medical Director since November 2023. Prior to this, they served as an Associate Medical Director at ProHealth from April 2022 to December 2023.
Before joining ProHealth, Dr. Raghavan worked at NYU Grossman School of Medicine for seven years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, focusing on studying the impact of gut microbiota on immune cell functions using animal models of disease. During their time there, they gained computational skills for microbial genome analysis and single cell RNA sequencing analysis. Varsha also had additional responsibilities such as preparing presentations, writing grants, reports, manuscripts, and reviewing research articles. Additionally, they held various roles at NYU, including being a team member, a mentor, and an organizer for a seminar series.
Dr. Raghavan also worked as a Project Analyst at The Solution Lab, Inc. from December 2020 to May 2021. In the past, they had a productive tenure at Washington University in St. Louis as a Graduate Student from August 2007 to May 2014. During this time, they also taught undergraduate students. Varsha was also a Visiting Research Student at Yale University School of Medicine for an unstated period between 2010 and 2014. Varsha completed their M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru University between 2005 and 2007.
Varsha Raghavan, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Microbiology from Washington University in St. Louis, completing their studies between 2007 and 2013. In 2017, they also received a certification in Science Communications from the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
