William Mortimore has had a long and varied career in the technology and healthcare industries. In 1987, they founded Merge Technologies and Merge Healthcare, where they served as CEO and Chair until late 2000 and 2006 respectively. In 1998, Merge Healthcare went public to the NASDAQ. In 2003, they became a Board Member of MRI Devices Corporation, a NASDAQ Public Company providing proprietary MRI imaging devices, and assisted the existing board as they contemplated potential exits. In 2004, they joined ARI Network Services as a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee, and also joined the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra as a Board Member. In 2007, they became Chair of the Information Technology Association of Wisconsin, where they led the selection of a new CEO and changed the focus of the association to the development of in-state IT talent. William also became Managing Director of Healthcare Growth Advisors and Healthcare Growth Partners. In 2012, they became CEO of Project Foundry, and in 2014, they became Chair of the Board of Directors of the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center.
William Mortimore attended Michigan State University from 1963 to 1967, where they earned a BSEE in Electrical Engineering. William then continued their education at the University of Minnesota from 1967 to 1972, where they earned an MSEE in Electrical Engineering.
