Somala Khem has worked in the accounting field since 2004, starting as an Accounting Clerk at Lindahl, Beck, LLP. From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a Staff Accountant at Marsh Inc. During their tenure there, they oversaw the financials and general ledger of 5 offices, worked with office head on revenue and expense accruals, and maintained knowledge of the office's budget, expenses and reports. In 2010, they moved to Active Interest Media as a Staff Accountant, where they designed an excel template that vastly expedited the journal entry process, reconciled 14+ million advertising Accounts Receivable on monthly basis and for annual financial audit, and reviewed month-end financial reports, provided variance analysis, and researched financial irregularities. From 2014 to 2021, Somala Khem worked as a Senior Accountant - Consultant at The Lucky Group, Inc. and as a Senior Accountant at Heretic Parfum. During this time, they prepared and processed Journal Entries including prepaids/accruals, recorded Fixed Assets depreciation and Inventory/Fulfillment entries, and reviewed month-end financial reports and provided variance analysis. Currently, they are a Senior Accountant at Prolacta Bioscience.
