Steve Baker, PhD, AAMIF

Steve Baker, PhD, AAMIF has a wealth of experience in the medical and technology industries. Steve began their career in 1995 as a Research Engineer at Cornell University, where they managed the scientific development of three NASA sounding rockets, designed, modeled, built, tested and deployed digital, mixed signal and analog circuits for ELF-HF electromagnetic-wave sensors, and PCM telemetry encoders, with participation on five sounding rockets. In 1998, they joined Schlumberger as a Project Engineer, responsible for the design, development, and testing of all electrical systems including telemetry, antennas, power, and control in a new, miniature, low-power sensor module. Steve was awarded a patent for this work. In 1999, they joined Welch Allyn as a Sr. Principal Engineer, developing medical instruments and solutions with expertise in ECG, body LANs, wireless (Wi-Fi / 802. 11, BlueTooth, BLE, Cellular), blood pressure algorithms, non-contact sensing, innovation, and electromagnetic compliance. Steve also developed WiFi testing solutions and installation best practices for industry. In 2016, Steve joined AlphaBravo Connectivity, LLC as a Principal Consultant, providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to companies developing wireless and low-power products including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, wireless charging, RFID, NFC, and cellular. Steve also reviewed existing systems to improve performance, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, and reviewed and assisted in the development of intellectual property. At the same time, they also joined Oregon Health and Science University as a Clinical Assistant Professor. In 2016, they joined Curadite, Inc as a Founding Engineer and CTO, building an engineering team to develop an embedded medication adherence product using both 4G cellular and Bluetooth connectivity solutions. Steve also guided the product road map, developed IP for the company and provided technical guidance for product solutions. Finally, in 2021, they joined ProMedix Inc - Precision Medical Devices as the CTO.

Steve Baker, PhD, AAMIF has an extensive education history. Steve obtained a Certificate of German as a Foreign Language from the Goethe Institut in 1990. Steve then went on to earn a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University in 1990. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1998.
