Dustin Hulbert, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in research and development. Dustin began their career as a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2001. From 2003-2008, they were a Scientist at Nanosolar and a Graduate Student at UC Davis, where they conducted research in advanced ceramic nanocomposites, rapid thermal processing of advanced ceramics, spark plasma sintering, and materials characterization. In 2008, they joined CalStar Products as the Director of Research & Development, where they organized, designed, and executed research and recruited talent to launch new building material products and processes at mass production scales. From 2016-2018, they were a Consultant at Geofortis, a Product Development Leader at Eden Innovations LLC, and a Director of Research and Development at Watershed Materials, where they developed new compression technologies and mix formulations for masonry products. Dustin is currently a Materials Scientist in Transition and will begin as the Director of Research and Development at Prometheus Materials in 2022.
Dustin Hulbert, Ph.D. received their BS, Cum Laude in Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo between 2000 and 2003. Dustin then went on to pursue their Ph.D. in Materials Science at the University of California, Davis, which they completed in 2007.
