Marianne Cessac has a strong legal background with work experience spanning over several years. Marianne started their career as an Attorney at Law at the Franklin law firm, specializing in public law and competition law. During their time there, they worked on public contracts, privatisations, merger control, and state aids. After that, they joined Sciences Po as a Maître de conférences, where they worked until 2010. In 2011, Marianne joined PROPARCO as a Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on project finance, corporate finance, financial intermediation, and equity investments in developing and emerging countries, with a particular emphasis on Latin America. Marianne was later promoted to Head of Legal - Equity in 2018. Throughout their career, Marianne has also gained experience in restructuring financing transactions.

Marianne Cessac has an extensive education history. In 1985, they attended Lycée Pasteur in São Paulo, Brazil, followed by Lycée Molière in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 1987 to 1989. From 1989 to 1993, they studied at Collège Francia, Lycée français de Caracas in Venezuela. Marianne then pursued their higher education in France, earning a Master's degree (Maîtrise) in Public Law from Paris-Pantheon-Assas University from 1995 to 2000. Marianne subsequently attended Sciences Po, obtaining a diploma in Service Public from 1999 to 2001. In 2000 and 2001, they also pursued a postgraduate degree (DESS) in Public Law and Public Litigation at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. Lastly, in 2003, Marianne completed their education at Paris Bar, obtaining a CAPA degree in Law.
