Jose Santillan

Jose Santillan has extensive experience in the banking and credit union industry. Jose most recently served as the Director of Personal Banking and Lease Credit at Prospera Credit Union, where they managed the credit portfolios for personal banking and automotive leasing. Prior to that, they were the Director of Retail & Commercial Credit at Westminster Savings Credit Union, overseeing the lending practices and credit decisions for retail, commercial, and leasing portfolios. Before joining Prospera and Westminster, Jose held the position of Sr. Manager Commercial Credit at Envision Financial, where they managed the commercial credit portfolio and provided leadership to the commercial lending team. Jose also worked as a Sr. Commercial Credit Advisor at RBC, delivering superior client service and mentoring other advisors. Additionally, Jose had a managerial role at Vancity, where they managed the Small Business Credit Analysts Team, mentored business account specialists, and served as a commercial account manager. Throughout their career, Jose has demonstrated expertise in credit risk management, loan adjudication, and portfolio growth.

Jose Santillan has a strong education background in business and finance. Jose completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Strategic Management and Finance from The University of British Columbia in 2000. Prior to that, they earned a Management Development Program (Honors) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Alberta, where they studied from 1996 to 1998. Jose'seducational journey began at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, where they obtained their CPA degree in Accounting between 1986 and 1990. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including the Certified Lean Green Belt Champion from Lean Sensei International in November 2015, the MBA from The University of British Columbia in December 2000, and the Certified Public Accountant from the Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos, A.C. in December 1990.
