Cherry Leung

Cherry Leung has a diverse work experience in various scientific and educational roles. They began their career as a Camps Aide at Pacific Science Center in 2018 and continued in the same role in 2019. Their responsibilities included teaching and supervising campers, preparing supplies, and assisting with camp activities.

In 2020, Cherry worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Pozzo Lab, where they gained research experience.

From 2021 to 2023, Cherry worked at the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. They started as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Davis Lab, where they engineered plasmids and analyzed sarcomere dynamics using microscopy techniques. They later became a Graduate Research Assistant in the same lab, contributing to a larger project on tension-sensing and cell remodeling. They developed microscopy methods and cultured stretchable cardiac tissue.

Most recently, Cherry joined Proteios Technology, Inc. in 2022 as a Research Associate. Their responsibilities include optimizing cell-SELEX procedures and assisting in the development and production of protein purification kits.

Cherry Leung pursued their education chronologically, starting with their time at Edmonds College from 2017 to 2019. Following their time at Edmonds College, Cherry attended the University of Washington, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from 2019 to 2022.
