Cary Maister

Cary Maister has extensive work experience in software engineering and technical leadership roles. They are currently the Director of Engineering at Protenus, a position they started in December 2022. Prior to this, Cary worked as a Senior Software Engineer at BigHat Biosciences from June 2021 to December 2022. They also held the role of Principal Software Engineer at Protenus from April 2016 to May 2021, where they served as a technical lead and built analytics applications using Scala and Python. Before Protenus, Cary worked at AOL as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing backend Java batch processes and a low-latency dynamic user targeting pixel server. They worked at AOL from February 2012 to April 2016. Earlier in their career, Cary was an HPC Engineer at JPMorgan Chase from July 2006 to February 2012, where they supported and developed software for distributed computing and designed a resource management framework for a real-time GPU grid. Cary's professional journey began with an IT Summer Internship at JPMorgan Chase in June 2005.

Cary Maister attended Yeshiva University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
