Ashley Keating

Senior Vice President, Head Of Technical Operations at Prothena

Ashley Keating has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Ashley started their career at Glaxo Wellcome as a Production Manager in 1986. Ashley then worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Officer at Zeneca in 1994, followed by a role as a Plant Manager at Abbott Laboratories from 1995 to 1997. From 1998 to 2004, Keating served as an Inspection Team Leader for the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, overseeing the destruction of chemical weapons and conducting inspections worldwide. Ashley joined Biogen in 2004 and held various roles, including Vice President Biosimilar Pharmaceutical Operations and Technology, Vice President External Manufacturing, Vice President Global Quality Control, and Vice President International Quality. During their time at Biogen, they successfully launched two Biosimilar anti TNF products and consolidated the site and local office Quality Control laboratories into a global function. In 2017, Keating joined Prothena Corporation plc as the Senior Vice President, Head of Technical Operations.

Ashley Keating's education history starts in 1979 when they enrolled at Swansea University for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry. This program lasted for three years, and they completed it in 1982.

Afterward, in 1982, Ashley moved on to the University of Strathclyde to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis. They studied there for one year before completing the program in 1983.

Next, in 1983, Ashley returned to Swansea University to pursue a doctorate (PhD) in Organic Chemistry. This program lasted for three years, and they successfully completed it in 1986.

Finally, in 1999, after a gap in education, Ashley enrolled at The Open University to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business. They completed this program in 2002, spending three years studying at The Open University.
