Advanced Robotics Concepts Engineer at Protoinnovations

Arjun Agarwal has had a varied and successful work experience. In 2021, they are a Robotics Engineer at PROTOINNOVATIONS, LLC, where they contribute to lunar rover mobility R&D sponsored by the NASA SBIR/STTR program. Theirduties include improving and maintaining a GUI for a single-wheel testbed in Python, writing Python scripts to analyze data, and collecting data from wheel testing. In 2020, they were an Intern at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL). From 2017-2019, they held various roles at the Space Power & Propulsion Laboratory, Dr. Pines' Research Group, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). These roles included Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they contributed to two projects, the Superconducting Helicon Thruster project and the Icy-Moon Cryo Environment Penetrating Ice Claw (ICE-PIC) project, as well as Undergraduate Research Fellow, where they measured and analyzed intensities of iron and chromium lines emitted by a hollow cathode lamp. In 2016, they were a Hyperloop Team Member at the University of Maryland, where they composed procedures for vacuum testing and sulfuric acid disposal, designed a rig using Siemens NX for testing pistons in a vacuum, and helped the team win 1st Place of 30 teams in Performance & Operations at SpaceX Hyperloop Competition I.

Arjun Agarwal obtained a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland between 2016 and 2020. In March 2019, they received a STK Level 1 Certification from AGI (Analytical Graphics, Inc.). Arjun also holds an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI, which they obtained in May 2014.
