Stephanie Ovoian

Stephanie Ovoian has over a decade of experience in library and information services, currently serving as the Head of Research & Library Services at the Providence Athenaeum since August 2013. In this role, Stephanie oversees daily member and patron services, including reference, research, special collections, and circulation services. Previous positions include Reference & Special Collections Librarian at the same institution, where responsibilities encompassed collection management and direct patron services, as well as roles at the Providence Public Library and Lincoln Public Library focusing on reference, collection development, and reader advisory services. Stephanie began their career in customer service as a Barista at Brewed Awakenings CoffeeHouse and contributed to clinical research at Rhode Island Hospital. Educational qualifications include a Master of Library & Information Science from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Providence College.
