Tom Dalby has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Tom started their career at the Met Office in 1998 as a Research Analyst, where they contributed to the development and coding of a new data-based weather forecasting system.

In 1999, Tom joined GE Capital as a Senior Risk Analyst/Manager, responsible for developing and delivering consumer risk and marketing analytics for GE businesses worldwide. Tom later became the Head of Global Decision Systems, leading various projects and teams. From 2009 to 2018, they served as the Senior Leader of Data, Reporting, and Analytics, overseeing a portfolio analytics and reporting team for GE Capital Legacy Portfolios.

In 2019, Tom joined Provident Financial Group as a Senior Manager. Tom then took on the role of Head of Credit Systems and Portfolio Analysis in October 2020. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in leadership, portfolio management, analytics, and risk analysis in both consumer and commercial finance markets.

Tom Dalby completed their education with a strong focus on statistics. In 1991, they started their undergraduate studies at Sheffield Hallam University, majoring in Engineering Physics. During this four-year program, they delved into various subjects including statistics, physics, engineering, and advanced mathematics. In 1995, they successfully obtained their bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics. Eager to further their knowledge in statistics, Tom pursued a PhD in Statistics from Sheffield Hallam University, which they completed in 1998.
