Luke Breen

Luke Breen has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Starting in 2012, they worked at LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services, where they held various roles such as Specimen Management Technician, Equipment Specialist, Supervisor of Logistics, and Manager of Mobile Labs Collection Services. In these roles, Luke displayed strong leadership skills and successfully managed day-to-day operations and transportation requests. In 2017, they also worked at the British Columbia Institute of Technology as both an MSDS Inventory Editor and Technical Staff member in Medical Laboratory Science. Luke's most recent position was at the Provincial Health Services Authority, where they served as the Lead of Strategy Management and Innovation starting in 2023.

Luke Breen's education history includes obtaining a Diploma from Burnaby South Secondary School from 2005 to 2010. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Population and Quantitative Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University, which they completed from 2010 to 2015. Most recently, Luke attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2020 to 2023, where they obtained an Advanced Certificate in Health Leadership. Additionally, Luke has acquired various certifications, including Occupational First Aid: Level II from St John Ambulance in October 2021, and certifications in transportation of dangerous goods and workplace hazardous material information system from LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services in 2021. Prior to that, they acquired certifications in Node.js and Visio from LinkedIn in 2020 and Lean Training from the Lean Six Sigma Institute LLC in 2018. Luke also holds certifications in first aid, laboratory ergonomics, laboratory assessment of thyroid function, OHSA electrical safety, OHSA hazard communication, and chemical hygiene from MediaLab, Inc., acquired in 2017.
