Nestor E. Cabrera-Munoz, Ph.D. has worked in various engineering and research roles since 2006. In 2006, they were a Principal Engineer and Project Manager at Danfoss, where they were globally responsible for hermetic filter drier designs used in refrigeration and air conditioning controls. Nestor E. then moved to General Motors in 2007, where they were a Project and Manufacturing Engineer. In 2010, they began working at the University of Southern California as a Research Assistant for Cardiorespiratory Sleep Disorders. In this role, they developed and maintained hardware and software user interfaces used in experimental studies conducted at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). In 2011, they began working as a Research Assistant for Biomedical Ultrasonic Transducers, and in 2015, they became a Proof of Concept Engineer and Co-Founder at Provisio Medical. In 2016, they were promoted to Development Engineer at Provisio Medical, and in 2018, they became a Principal Engineering Fellow and Co-Founder of CAMUZ. In their role at CAMUZ, they are thinking about Techno-Utopian Systems and Metabolic-Urbanism within a social, financial and energetic framework in constant change.
Nestor E. Cabrera-Munoz, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California between 2011 and 2017. Nestor E. also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Technology Commercialization from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California between 2012 and 2014. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biomedical Engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California between 2008 and 2010. Nestor E. also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 2000 and 2005, and completed a Mechanical-Electrical Engineering program at Oregon State University in 2004.
