Optical Engineer IV at Psionic Technologies

Jamie L. Lane, PhD has extensive work experience in the fields of optical engineering, product engineering, and research. They currently hold the position of Optical Engineer IV at Psionic Technologies. Prior to this, they worked at Leoni Fiber Optics Inc, where they served as the Manager of Product Engineering and also worked as a Product Engineer.

Dr. Lane's research experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Old Dominion University, where they conducted fundamental research on ionized gases and their interaction with biological systems. They also established a laser diagnostic facility and designed optical systems for various applications.

At Drexel University, Dr. Lane served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Combustion and Fuels Research Group, conducting research on combustion and plasma-assisted combustion systems. They trained graduate students and contributed to the development of spectroscopic techniques and optical systems. They also worked as a Graduate Research Fellow, conducting innovative scientific studies and developing a new laser spectroscopy technique. In addition, Dr. Lane held teaching positions at Drexel University, where they delivered lectures on thermodynamics and evaluated student performances. They also served as a Teaching Assistant for laboratory courses, guiding students through experiments and developing their technical writing and data analysis skills.

Jamie L. Lane, PhD, completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry at Chowan University from 2000 to 2004. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University from 2004 to 2007. Building upon their master's education, Jamie went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University from 2004 to 2012.
