Hence Orme has a vast and extensive work experience in the financial industry. Hence started their career as an Investment Officer/Analyst at NCNB Corporation, where they made stock recommendations and achieved index-beating results. Hence then joined NatWest Securities Corporation as a Vice President/Analyst, launching coverage of various stocks and publishing industry studies and investment recommendations.
Orme later worked at Tiger Management as a Managing Director/Analyst, researching and recommending investment ideas in various industries such as airlines, aerospace/defense, and shipping. Hence conducted interviews with senior executives and achieved returns higher than index averages.
Hence then founded their own company, Orme Capital Management, where they managed a fundamental long/short equity hedge fund focused on industrial, consumer, and transportation stocks. Hence recruited and led a team, raised capital, and generated returns better than index averages.
Afterward, they worked as a Portfolio Manager at Satellite Asset Management, leading the industrials and consumer research and trading team. Hence established a low net exposure fund strategy and achieved performance consistent with return targets and risk tolerances.
Orme then joined Citadel Investment Group as an Analyst in the Industrials Group, where they researched and recommended investment ideas for mid-cap industrial stocks. Hence conducted extensive analysis of various industries and established research coverage and financial models.
Later, they worked at CDPQ New York as a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing a market-neutral portfolio of industrial stocks. Hence incorporated quantitative tools into the fundamental investment process and generated positive, low-volatility returns uncorrelated with major indexes.
Currently, they are a Senior Director of Global Equity Research, Industrials at PSP Investments. Their responsibilities include generating investment ideas from a global universe of industrial stocks and supporting various portfolios such as Global Fundamental, Emerging Markets, Long/Short Equity, and Global Investment Partnerships. Hence covers industries such as Aerospace & Defense, Electrical Equipment, Industrial Conglomerates, and Machinery.
Hence Orme attended Duke University from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained an AB degree in Economics and History. Following that, from 1986 to 1988, Hence Orme pursued an MBA degree in Finance at Indiana University - Kelley School of Business. In 1992, Hence Orme earned additional certifications, including a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) from the CFA Institute.
