Jean-Francois Villeneuve, CFA is a seasoned investment professional with a diverse range of work experience. Jean-Francois started their career as an Economist/Consultant at Économique Conseil (EEC Canada Inc.) in Montreal from December 2002 to June 2004. Jean-Francois then worked as an Economist at Laurentian Bank Securities in Montreal from July 2004 to August 2006.

From August 2006 to May 2009, Villeneuve served as a Portfolio Manager at Desjardins Global Asset Management, where they managed a fund of hedge funds and launched a long-short equity hedge fund. Subsequently, they joined Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) in June 2009 as a Senior Economic Advisor, advising the Chief Investment Officer on tactical asset allocation and responsible for a long/short strategy on S&P500 sectors.

At CDPQ, Villeneuve also served as a Senior Analyst in Tactical Asset Allocation from January 2011 to June 2016, where they identified macroeconomic trends and developed a quantitative fundamental analysis framework for monitoring market dynamics and macro factors affecting currency prices.

Since June 2016, Villeneuve has been working at PSP Investments, initially as a Portfolio Manager in Currencies and Global Macro in the CIO Office. In this role, they managed equity strategy at the countries and sectors level and advised the CIO on tactical asset allocation and total portfolio management. Jean-Francois was also a member of the monthly global portfolio rebalancing committee. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Portfolio Manager in Global Macro, focusing on portfolio construction for PSP's public markets portfolio, which includes equities, fixed income, credit, and alternatives. Jean-Francois also co-manages a global macro - multi-asset - mandate and oversees equity market strategies within the portfolio.

Jean-Francois Villeneuve, CFA pursued their Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Université de Montréal from 1995 to 1999. Jean-Francois then attended HEC Montréal from 2000 to 2002, where they earned a Master of Science in Business. In 2001 and 2002, they also simultaneously pursued a Master of Arts in Economics from McGill University. Later, from 2005 to 2008, Jean-Francois attended the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, where they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) degree in Finance. Prior to their university education, they completed their schooling at College Jean-de-Brebeuf from 1988 to 1995, although specific degrees or fields of study were not mentioned. Additionally, Jean-Francois Villeneuve holds the CFA certification from the CFA Institute and the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) from the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, with the date of completion unspecified.
