Servaas Sierens has a diverse work experience. Servaas started their career in 1993 as a Psychiatric Nurse at PZ Onzelievevrouw and worked there until 1999. From 1999 to 2018, they held various roles at PZ Onzelievevrouw, including Head Nurse at the ward for psychotic patients and Head Nurse at the ward for Depression and Personality disorder. In 2001, they joined NVKVV as a Member & Vice President of the Workgroup Mental Health Care, and in 2012, they became a Visiting Lecturer for psychiatric and mental health nursing. Servaas also worked as a Trainer at Preventief Omgaan met Agressie.be and as a Woodturner at Houtdraaiensierens.be. In 2014, they joined the Federal Public Service Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment, where they worked as an Expert in the Recognition Commission of Nursing Practitioners, Section Mental Health. Additionally, they served as a Visiting Lecturer for psychiatric and mental health nursing at VIVES University College starting from 2008.

Servaas Sierens attended Klein Seminarie from 1987 to 1990, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period. From 1990 to 1993, they studied at Sint-Jans-instituut voor verpleegkunde and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse/Nursing. Later, from 1999 to 2001, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at VVC - NVKVV.
