Marthen Pitherson Cahyadi Lalang

Marthen Pitherson Cahyadi Lalang has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, currently serving as Chief Geotechnical Engineer at Freeport Indonesia since October 2015, following a previous role as Geotechnical Engineer. Marthen gained research experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from September 2021 to September 2023 and foundational skills as a Laboratory Assistant in both Rock and Soil Mechanics at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta from October 2012 to August 2014. A brief internship at Holcim Indonesia focused on geotechnical field mapping and hazard assessment in March to June 2014. Marthen holds a Master of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Engineering from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta, complemented by high school education from SMAN 5 Mataram in an acceleration class of science.
