Patricio Múrias dos Santos

Patricio Múrias dos Santos has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Patricio started their career as an intern at Baysystems Iberia S.L., a Bayer Material Science Company, in 2006. Patricio then worked in various roles at GSK as a Product Manager for Oncology and at the Healthcare Business of Merck as a Product Manager for Oncology and later as an Associate Director in Global Strategic Marketing.

In 2013, Patricio joined Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Manager in Marketing, specializing in Metabolic Disorders in EMEA. Patricio then moved to Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where they held positions as an Associate Director in International Marketing and Commercial International, leading marketing and strategic initiatives for Kalydeco, an orphan drug for rare diseases.

Since 2018, Patricio has been working at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. In their current role as the Executive Director of Global Marketing in the Global Commercial Strategy, they are responsible for leading the global commercial cross-functional team for Upstaza, PTC's first gene therapy for AADCd patients. Patricio also leads the team for the potential upcoming launch of sepiapterin in PKU. Prior to this position, they served as a Senior Director in the Global Launch Team and a Director in the Global Commercial Strategy, playing a key role in the commercial development and launch of Upstaza and sepiapterin.

Throughout their career, Patricio has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic marketing skills, successfully launching products, expanding markets, and driving business growth.

Patricio Múrias dos Santos obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2001 to 2007. In 2007, they also completed a Master in PharmaBusiness program at EPHOS - School of PharmaStudies (British Council Validated). Prior to that, they attended Colegio Champagnat and graduated with a degree in High School, specializing in Science from 1995 to 1999.
