Sergi Lluch Calatayud has extensive experience in the gaming industry, specializing in environment art and design.
Sergi currently works at PUBG Corporation as the Lead Environment Artist, where they are responsible for overseeing the creation of environments that align with the direction of the season. Sergi also supervises R&D projects to improve the production pipeline and manages a team to ensure task completion. Prior to this, they served as the World Art Tech Team Leader and World Art Director.
Before joining PUBG Corporation, Sergi held positions at Bluehole and BlueHole Ginno Games, where they worked as a Senior World Artist for PlayerUnknown's Battleground. Sergi was responsible for designing and creating realistic and engaging natural and urban environments using the Unreal Engine 4 tools. Sergi also developed material libraries, supervised outsourced assets, and provided documentation and guidelines for freelancers and the art team.
Earlier in their career, Sergi worked at Gameloft as a 3D Environment Artist. Sergi played a crucial role in the environment art pipeline, focusing on textures and environment assets and later taking on responsibilities such as level layout, lighting, and material and post fx creation. Sergi also collaborated with the design team to ensure the environment assets met their requirements.
Sergi's work experience also includes a role as a Photography Editor at Aina Buforn Photography and a 3D Environment Artist at Tower 22.
From 2009 to 2010, Sergi Lluch Calatayud attended the CICE institute, where they pursued a Master MAD degree. During this time, they focused on studying subjects such as 3D Animation, character modeling, environment modeling, lightning, and post-processing.
