Dr. Brianne McGonigle Leyh is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University since January 2016, with extensive expertise in international law and human rights. Serving as Executive Editor for the Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights since May 2011, Dr. Leyh also holds the position of Senior Peace Fellow at the Public International Law & Policy Group. From November 2014 to September 2017, Dr. Leyh was the Co-Director of the Utrecht Center for International Studies, fostering interdisciplinary research in international affairs. Previous legal experience includes roles at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia as Junior Co-Counsel and as a Visiting Professional at the International Criminal Court. Dr. Leyh earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from American University Washington College of Law and a MA in International Relations from American University, complemented by a BA in Human Rights and International Law from Boston University.
