Gökçe Şencan is a Research Associate at the Public Policy Institute of California, managing projects related to water economics, groundwater management, and climate change since October 2018. Gökçe authored reports and blogs on freshwater ecosystems and water partnerships. Previous experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, where Gökçe calculated economic benefits from CO2 emission reductions and modeled fire risks, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Gökçe has also interned with UN Environment, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals, and written environmental opinion articles for Independent Turkey.
