Nathaniel A. Vitan

Nathaniel Vitan is a seasoned legal executive currently serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Public Storage since 2016, overseeing legal affairs, enterprise risk management, compliance, and internal audit for the largest self-storage operator in the world. Prior to this role, Nathaniel was Vice President & Chief Counsel for Litigation & Operations at Altria Client Services LLC, where responsibilities included managing high-stakes litigation for Philip Morris USA Inc. and other subsidiaries. Nathaniel began a legal career at Latham & Watkins LLP, specializing in trial and appellate litigation, and gained judicial experience as a law clerk for Judge T.S. Ellis III in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and advanced degrees in American Government from the University of Virginia.
