Maurea Flynn has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. maurea started working at Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz in 2001 as a Professor Adjunto. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Professor Adjunto at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. In 2011, they became a consultant at Intertox until 2014. In 2012, they became a Sócia Diretora e Responsável Técnica at Bio.Sensu - Consultoria Ecológica. From 2013 onwards, they worked as a Professor Orientador at FT - UNICAMP. In 2014, they joined EcoAdvisor Associados as Diretora Tecnica. Currently, they are serving as Director Of Academic Affairs at Lisam Systems since 2018.

Maurea Flynn began their education journey in 1974 at UERJ, where they pursued a Bacharelado degree in Biologia. This program lasted for four years, and they completed their studies in 1977. Following this, Maurea moved on to USP - Universidade de São Paulo and enrolled in the Doctorate program in Aquatic Ecology in 1978. Their doctoral studies lasted for thirteen years, and they successfully obtained their Doctor degree in 1991.
