John Maher

John Maher is a seasoned professional in the publishing industry, currently serving as the Senior News Editor at Publishers Weekly since March 2016. In this role, John oversees digital news operations, edits the PW Daily newsletter, and collaborates with the executive editor to manage a team of news correspondents. With extensive freelance experience, John has contributed as a writer and editor for numerous publications, including Esquire and The Los Angeles Times. Prior to Publishers Weekly, John co-founded and served as Editor in Chief for The Dot and Line, and held various editorial roles at The Book Report Network. John holds a BA in English and history from Skidmore College and a certificate from the Yale School of Management’s Publishing Course.
