Elizabeth Garton has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Pullman Regional Hospital since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at WSU Veterinary teaching hospital from February 2019 to April 2021. Elizabeth also gained experience as an MLS Extern at Oregon Institute of Technology from September 2018 to December 2018.
Before their medical laboratory roles, Elizabeth worked as an Overnight Caseworker at Jackson Street Youth Services from May 2016 to July 2017. Elizabeth then transitioned to the field of research, working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University from May 2013 to June 2015. Elizabeth also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the university from September 2011 to June 2015.
In addition, Elizabeth has held positions in other fields. Elizabeth worked as an Artist Assistant/General Labor at Windstone Editions from June 2012 to September 2013. Elizabeth gained research experience as a Summer Research Intern/Researcher at Eastern Oregon University from April 2008 to June 2011, and also worked as a Laboratory Teacher's Assistant at the university from September 2010 to December 2010.
Elizabeth's earlier work experiences include a seasonal role at Boise Cascade Company as a Grader and Dryer Feeder from June 2010 to September 2010. Elizabeth also worked at La Grande Country Club from January 2004 to May 2008, where they performed various tasks in the office, as a dishwasher for events, and range organization. Elizabeth started their career as an Animal Caretaker (Temp) at Blue Mountain Humane Association, initially as a volunteer in 2005 and later during a staff transition phase in 2006 and 2007.
Elizabeth Garton began their education at La Grande High School from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a High School Honors Diploma. Elizabeth then attended Eastern Oregon University from 2006 to 2011, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in both Biochemistry and Art. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Oregon State University from 2011 to 2015, earning a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) degree with a focus on Soil Science, Art, and Biochemistry. Lastly, they attended the Oregon Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2018, completing their education with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
