Florie Guneratne

Florie Guneratne is a Mechanical Engineer currently employed at Pulpex since October 2022, following a tenure as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. Prior to this, Florie served as the Consent and Sexual Health Officer at Loughborough Students' Union from July 2021 to June 2022, receiving recognition as the winner of the Association of the Year 2021/22, and was shortlisted for a Loughborough Experience award for developing and delivering consent workshops. Florie's experience includes an industrial placement at EDF (UK), where an engineering change authored resulted in a £250,000 annual savings for the plant, alongside receiving the EDF Student Scholarship for exceptional performance. Florie's earlier roles also include mentoring in STEM education and serving as a Welfare and Diversity Representative at the Wolfson School of Engineering, as well as experience in customer service and administration. Florie holds an MEng in Product Design Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, complemented by a strong academic foundation from Dr Challoner's High School in Mathematics, Physics, and English Literature.
