Bryce Lampe is a software engineer who currently works at Pulumi. Prior to their current position, they were the head of engineering at Retain.ai from September 2020 to May 2022. Bryce was responsible for rapidly expanding the engineering team by transitioning to a remote-first model. Bryce also hired area leads and established organizational structure, processes, and best practices. In addition, they worked with leadership to prioritize a long-term strategy for up-leveling the company’s product and data engineering capabilities. Furthermore, they led the company’s migration to infrastructure as code and ECS/EKS. Prior to their work at Retain.ai, Bryce Lampe worked as an engineering leader at Uber from June 2014 to August 2020. Their teams built libraries, tools, and distributed systems that powered all of Uber's services. They supported thousands of internal users and tens of millions of request per second, with some successful open-source projects as well. Bryce was responsible for our Bazel monorepo and core libraries for the company's largest language ecosystems. Bryce was also responsible for the company's RPC, layer-7 load balancing, datacenter ingress, and zone failover solutions.
Bryce Lampe has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics and Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College, and a certification from Triplebyte in Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer. Lampe is also HBX Executive Education certified in Leadership and Strategy from Harvard Business School Online.
