Gabriel Riaño

Gabriel Riaño is an experienced data manager and GIS professional with a background in civil engineering and urban hydraulics. Currently serving as Data Manager II at PUR since January 2022, Gabriel focuses on coordinating data environment implementations and overseeing monitoring activities for insetting projects in Latin America. Prior to this role, Gabriel worked at Universidad de La Salle as a GIS professional, where assistance was provided in a project analyzing risks in road corridors. Additionally, Gabriel has experience as a research assistant, analyzing remote sensing data to characterize Colombian slums and developing tools for quantifying built areas using satellite imagery. Educational credentials include a degree in civil engineering with a specialization in GIS and remote sensing from Universidad de La Salle, along with further studies in water management and web app development.
