Jack Herrema is an undergraduate mechanical engineering student at Purdue University, expected to graduate in June 2025. Currently serving as an undergraduate researcher at Wharry Research Group, Jack focuses on designing thermal studies for SA508 steel heat treatments to enhance electron beam weld normalization and analyze recrystallization effects. Jack's experience includes work with Purdue Electric Racing on designing and manufacturing electric vehicle chassis, as well as serving as an education assistant at Maker Nexus, where teaching various technical skills took place. Additionally, Jack founded and managed a business centered on teaching the card game Magic: the Gathering and held leadership roles in robotics teams, contributing to both design and strategy components of competition robots. Skills in CAD software, thermal analysis, and various engineering practices have been honed through these diverse experiences.
